I’ve signed up with Be There now that they cover my local exchange, following my debacle getting away from Bulldog.
Now I eagerly await the arrival of the modem, to find out how much of the 24Mbit theoretical maximum of ADSL2+ actually is available on my particular line. I am also wondering whether I’ll really see the claimed 1.3Mbps upload.
Initial signup-process went very smoothly, but a couple of hiccups have occurred subsequently:
- The company had some kind of credit-card billing-problem on Saturday 1st April (I know; I thought it was a joke initially)
- I was informed by email on Monday that the modem had been shipped, but the modem had not arrived by COB Tuesday. I filed a customer services ticket Tuesday 6pm, which took till Wednesday midday before they came back with and update stating it should be delivered by COB Wednesday.
- My profile password had an upper-case letter in it, which was turned into lower-case by Be’s systems. Took me a while to work out why I couldn’t sign back into the member portal. Ticket filed.
